Airing as Episode on _____________, 2025
What we know:
- Glenn Howerton confirmed that the episode is, indeed, an episode of "The Golden Bachelor"
- A Season 17 graphic, used on set this season for Cast & Crew, is clearly connected to this episode (indicating this finale could be a larger part of the season than we are currently aware of, if not a "theme" of the Season):
- Mary Elizabeth was on set during filming for this episode (the "wrap party" occurred in between filming scenes):
- The episode wrapped on December 4, 2024 (the final day of filming for Season 17) and was reportedly a 17.5 hour work day
Predictions:
- Due to Charlie Day having shaved his beard prior to the final day of filming, Charlie Kelly may shave for this event (or may be absent toward the end)
- The Waitress joins as a contestant (hence being dressed up as an old lady)
This episode is a follow-up from the events of The Gang Gets Ready for Prime Time- This episode is believed to be what we've dubbed as the "white board" episode, as shared by Rob on Twitter
- The white board outline for the episode is as follows:
- Of easiest note on the board:
- Frank is clearly the subject of the plot, dating multiple people (or par with the idea of "The Golden Bachelor")
- Dennis and Dee and Charlie and Mac seem to be in pairs.
- See a breakdown of our assumptions/predictions for this episode here.
- If this is the finale, why is Rob not a credited writer as indicated in his tweet?
- What is the likelihood that this is affiliated with the real Golden Bachelor? Fx and ABC are sibling networks now, and clearly they're already crossing over with an ABC show this year. Though two crossovers in one season seems a bit much...
- Does prior symbolism regarding Mac and Dennis with yellow roses have any merit being connected to this plot? We don't see Mac and Dennis' names paired on Charlie's White Board (however he's clearly not done writing)
