1806 - Mac and Dennis Tear Their ACLs

Synopsis: After a Christmas card catastrophe, Charlie nurses a bedridden Mac and Dennis and deliberates on which one is the originator of all their ideas. Dee and Frank are tired of being the bottom of the communication ladder and decide to flip the script. 

What we know:

• A review of this episode revealed that the Gang are attempting to get a Christmas Card photo in the midst of all (or which spurs all) of this chaos.
• A cable trailer shows Mac and Dennis with splints on, with Charlie between them, asking "What the hell is this all about?"

The leather on the couch is torn way more than usual (and more than is seen in Frank Marries a Corpse)

• Parts of this episode were filmed in front of the building used for Paddy's exterior (Pan Pacific Warehouse) in late February, and local fans were able to witness the filming of a scene:

Mac: “You’re on a need-to-know basis, Dee and you don’t need to know!”
Charlie: “We put you on a need-to-know basis, Dee, okay?”
Dee: “Why!?”
Mac: “You don’t need to know!”
Charlie: “We wanted to do a cut* with a little more physical prowess, right, so we’re doing ___’s thing”

(*it is possible Charlie is saying "card" here, due to the knowledge that Mac and Dennis are taking photos for a Christmas card)

• Rob posted an edited photo during filming of this episode to Instagram, hinting that this would be Die Hard themed (or have Die Hard References):

Possibilities/Questions:

• It is possible this episode is set during Christmas, based on Mac and Dennis' sweaters as well as an interview with Heath Cullens. (Whether or not Die Hard should be considered a Christmas movie is a decades-old debate.)

Notes:

• The Gang Gets Held Hostage (S3) is a blatant homage to Die Hard, with many direct references, however the name of the movie is never mentioned by any member of the Gang. (Though the Gang do know Die Hard, as it's mentioned in Thundergun 4: Maximum Cool (S14).)
